Terms of Service

Last updated: 19 August 2026

By using ReceiveSMS.ink you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the service.

This site is operated byDocs Printing SRLStr. Lacul Roșu nr. 5, 400614 Cluj-Napoca, Cluj, Romania

1. What the service does

ReceiveSMS.ink provides phone numbers that can receive inbound text messages. Two tiers are offered:

  • Free public numbers — shared by all visitors. Every message received is displayed publicly on this website. No account is required.
  • Private numbers — a paid subscription assigns a number to your account alone. Messages are visible only to you and, if you configure one, to your webhook endpoint.

The service receives messages only. You cannot send text messages or place calls from any number on this site.

2. Free numbers are not private

Anything sent to a free number is public. Anyone can read it, including search engines and other people using the same number. Do not use a free number for anything you would mind a stranger seeing, and do not rely on a free number to protect an account, a payment method, or an identity. We accept no responsibility for any loss arising from a message you sent or caused to be sent to a public number.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the service to:

  • impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity to a third party;
  • commit fraud, evade a ban or suspension, or circumvent a security control that a service has put in place to protect its users;
  • create accounts in violation of another service’s terms, or in bulk for the purpose of abuse, spam, or manipulation;
  • harass, threaten, stalk, or endanger any person;
  • attempt to intercept, scrape at abusive volume, overload, probe, or otherwise interfere with the operation of the service or its infrastructure;
  • break any law that applies to you.

We may suspend or terminate access, remove content, and release a number at any time if we believe these rules have been broken.

4. Legitimate uses we support

The service exists for developers testing SMS and OTP flows, for people who would rather not hand a personal mobile number to every website that asks for one, and for anyone who needs a throwaway number for a one-off signup. Those are the uses we build for.

5. Accounts

Accounts are created by signing in with Google. You are responsible for keeping access to that Google account secure, and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you believe your account has been compromised.

6. Subscriptions and billing

  • Private numbers are sold as a recurring monthly subscription, billed in advance through Stripe.
  • The subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel. Prices are shown on the subscribe page before you pay.
  • You may cancel at any time from your account menu. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for; the service remains available until then.
  • After a subscription ends, your number is held for 7 days and then returned to the pool. Once released, it cannot be recovered.
  • Payments already made are non-refundable except where refunds are required by the law that applies to you.

7. Availability

The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee that any particular number will stay available, that any message will arrive, or that it will arrive within any particular time. Message delivery depends on mobile carriers and upstream providers that we do not control. Numbers may be withdrawn or rotated without notice.

Do not use this service where a failed or delayed message would cause you harm — for example, to receive codes for an account you cannot afford to lose access to.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, for lost profits or data, or for loss of access to any third-party account, arising from your use of or inability to use the service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim — which, for users of the free service, is zero.

9. Changes

We may update these terms as the service changes. The “last updated” date above reflects the current version. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the revised terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by Romanian law. Disputes fall to the competent courts of Cluj-Napoca, Romania. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence, nor of the right to bring proceedings there.

11. Consumers

If you are a consumer in the European Union, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract. By starting a subscription you ask us to begin supplying the service immediately, and you acknowledge that the right of withdrawal is lost once the service has been fully performed for the period you paid for. We will still consider refund requests made in good faith — write to us.

Romanian consumers may also refer a complaint to the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC) or use its alternative dispute resolution scheme at anpc.ro. We would rather hear from you first, though — most problems are quicker to fix directly.
